Privacy Policy

Pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR), and Article 11 of Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the protection of personal data and guarantee of digital rights (LOPD), the personal data collected by the University of A Coruña will be processed under the responsibility of the University, whose contact details are Calle Maestranza 9, 15001 A Coruña, telephone 981167000, email secretariaxeral@udc.gal.

The data provided to the University by the interested party will be processed for the specific purpose for which it was requested, this processing being legitimized by one of the bases provided for in Article 6 of the GDPR. All persons who come into contact with this data for the aforementioned purpose will comply with the duty of confidentiality established in Article 5 of the LOPD.

The data will be processed only for as long as necessary to fulfill the stated purpose and will be retained in accordance with the timeframes and criteria established for each specific case under applicable law. The data will not be transferred to third parties unless there is prior consent from the data subject or a legal basis for such transfer.

In any case, the data subject shall have the right to request from the data controller, at any time, access to, rectification of, or erasure of their personal data and the restriction of its processing. They shall also have the right to object to such processing, as well as to request, except in cases of public interest and/or the exercise of public authority, the portability of their data. Furthermore, they shall have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making, including profiling.

These rights may be exercised in any of the following ways:

• notably, through the form for exercising rights regarding the protection of personal data, which can be completed on this same electronic website in the Other procedures section;
• by request to the person responsible for data processing (UDC, General Secretariat), to the Xeral Secretariat, Reitoría da Universidade da Coruña, Rúa Maestranza 9, 15001, A Coruña, or to the email rpd@udc.gal; It may also be submitted upon request through the telematic registry of this Headquarters or the UDC’s in-person records.

In addition, interested parties will have the right to file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
